Vehicle Recognition Quiz

County Arms Truro February 24th 2012

Truro and District Motor Club would like to invite teams to entry the Vehicle Recognition Quiz – Friday 24th February 2012 at the County Arms Highertown Truro – 7.30 for 8.00pm start.  Entry fee is £5.00 per person and teams can be made up of two or three persons, free tea and coffee will be provided. If however you wish to eat prior to the start of the quiz then you should arrange that separately with County Arms direct. You should bring pens and a clip board.

The original car recognition quiz I entered was one run by Camel Vale Motor Club back in the seventies and very good evening they were.  Mike Tregoning, Roger Langford and myself entered all three quizzes run by the club, eventually winning the last one.

I devised my own quiz when I was living in Exeter and ran it a few times there. I did run one quiz for Truro Motor Club in early 2000 and a very good evening was had by those that entered.  The quiz we have lined up for your entertainment will be a series of photographs (slides), pictures, model cars and a powerpoint presentation.  There will hopefully be one hundred questions on the night and points will be awarded for make, model etc.  For instance if the slide/picture is of a Ford Mondeo 2.0 Ghia – one point will be awarded for each part written on the answer paper – Ford Mondeo gets two points while Ford Mondeo 2.0 Ghia gets four points.

This is a vehicle recognition quiz, so there will be other vehicles apart from cars.
